Some permanent life insurance policies can build cash value after policy costs and charges. Ask how long it may take, what payments are needed, and what access could cost.
Some policies allow early access to part of the death benefit for qualifying illnesses. Availability and conditions vary, and using these benefits reduces what remains for beneficiaries.

Hey. If you've been working in the service business a few years, you're probably making pretty good money. So you feel like you're doing alright. Well, that's until your friends start talking about their work benefits, retirement plans, life insurance, and you start thinking like, we get half price appetizers. Sound familiar?
Well, one of my regulars told me about this thing called an IUL, also called indexed universal life insurance. The best way I can explain it is like a life insurance policy and a retirement account had a baby, a responsible baby, with paperwork.
Here's the breakdown. First, it's life insurance. So if you pass away while covered, it can leave money to help your family handle the bills. Second, part of your premium payments can build cash value inside your policy over time. That cash value can earn interest linked to a market index, giving you a way to benefit from market gains without investing directly in the stock market. There's also a floor. Think of it like a safety net on the interest credited. So if the markets get rough, you don't lose what you've built up.
As the cash value builds, you may be able to access some through a loan or withdrawal. Another big plus is some policies offer living benefits. So if you develop a qualifying serious illness, you may be able to access part of the death benefit while you're alive to help take care of things.
Securing your family financially, building resources for later, understanding what help may be available along the way — that's a true adulting 101.
